① First, connect one end of the round fitting of the hose to the outlet of the pump.
② Press the valve core and rotate clockwise to pop it out.
③ Hold the hose connector (Note: Do not hold the middle of hose).
④ Insert the air valve of paddle board and turn clockwise.
⑤ Connection has been successfully completed for normal inflation.
⑥ Just turn the hose counterclockwise after the paddleboard is fully inflated.
Deflating the SUP board:
Just use your fingers to press down the valve core clockwise.
Note that the supplied black wrench is used to tighten the air valve.
Please do not use the black wrench to deflate the SUP board.
For more information on how to inflate/ deflate the paddleboard, you can refer to the actions in the video below.
2. WHY ARE THERE BUBBLES ON THE DECK PAD OF MY BOARD?
When you receive paddle board, you may notice some unsightly bubbles on the deck pad. These bubbles will not continue to grow, please don't worry.
Attaching the deck pad is the last step in our production process, and the QC department will conduct quality inspection afterwards. During transportation and storage, due to uncontrollable factors such as temperature, a small amount of bubbles will appear under some deck pads, but it will not affect normal use.
If the paddle board you received has this problem, you can try to poke a hole with a fine needle to expel the air ( please operate with the SUP deflated and use the fine needle to pierce the non-slip pad in a diagonal manner. Be careful not to insert too deep to avoid piercing the PVC material inside the SUP board.)
The 3M adhesive on the bottom of the pad will be re-adhered to the deck. Usually, after a few uses, the bubbles will disappear on their own.
3. WHY DID THE SIDE OF THE PADDLE BURST?
Inflatable panels burst because the sun weakened both the material and the seams, and also because the heat of the sun increased the pressure within the panels beyond the limits of the design.
Follow these simple steps to ensure a long life for your inflatable paddle board:
Depressurize the board: If you must leave your SUP board out of the water and in direct sunlight, reduce the pressure in the board to 7PSI or lower.
Always store your paddleboard in a cool dry place or shady area when not in use.
4. WHAT'S IN A PADDLEBOARD REPAIR KIT AND HOW TO USE THE REPAIR TOOL?
Our repair kit includes a black wrench and repair patch. (The repair kit does not contain glue).
The wrench included in the repair kit should ONLY be used for leaking valves. Should you hear air escaping around the edge of the valve please ONLY use to tighten by turning clockwise. It should never be used to deflate your inflatable paddle board. Improper use of this tool will void the board warranty.
5. WHY DOES THE GAP AROUND THE VALVE LEAK AIR?
This is caused by the air valve loosening during transportation or after repeated use. Do not use glue to repair.
Please refer to the following steps:
1. Make sure the paddle board is in the deflated state, use the black wrench to tighten the valve joint clockwise, hold the internal assembly of the valve with your hand to keep it still, and rotate the external assembly with the gray plastic valve wrench.
2. When the SUP board is completely deflated, use a wrench to tighten the wrench, and hold the air valve at the bottom of the paddle board with the other hand to fix it.(Please repeat the operation 5-8 times)
3. Then please inflate the paddle and tighten the air valve again.(Please repeat the operation 5-8 times)
About Accessories And Care
1. HOW DO I STORE MY FUNWATER PADDLE BOARD?
Proper SUP storage is crucial for increasing your board’s longevity. Here’s some top tips:
1. Make sure your SUP board is fully dry before deflating, folding, and storing away. Storing your iSUP board when wet or damp can cause permanent damage over time.
2. Store your SUP in appropriate temperatures. Whilst our boards are designed to be super durable, extreme hot or cold conditions won’t be ideal in the long-run. We recommend storing your board anywhere between 5 – 40°C (40 – 105°F).
3. Remove your centre fin. If you deflate your board and try rolling it up with fins still in, this could cause permanent damage.
2. HOW DO I TAKE CARE OF MY SUP?
Taking care of your SUP is pretty easy, with little regular maintenance required:
1. Store indoors, in the shade, or in a reflective bag when not in use. Don’t expose your board to sunlight for too long, as this can cause permanent damage.
2. Rinse your board and accessories with fresh water after using in the ocean. Failing to rinse-off salt and other debris can weaken seams and damage your board’s material over time.
3. Regularly check for cracks, scrapes, or any other issues, avoid too much long-term damage.
3. HOW SHOULD I CLEAN MY BOARD?
Soapy water works on most stains and mineral spirits for tough stains.
4. CAN I KEEP MY SUP PERMANENTLY INFLATED?
Many people assume SUPs have to be stored deflated. In fact, if you regularly use your board, we recommend keeping it inflated for ease and to save time!
Just be sure to avoid stacking heavy objects on top of it, as this could cause damage.
5. HOW DO I TRAVEL WITH MY ISUP?
Our iSUPs have been specifically designed with ease of travel in mind. Whether walking, driving, or hopping on a plane, travelling with your iSUP shouldn’t be a struggle with our included travel backpack.
For more information on how to best travel with your SUP, check out our blogs for tips.
About Safety And Tips
1. WHAT SHOULD I WEAR WHEN STAND UP PADDLEBOARDING?
A floatation device (PFD) asked in Canada at all times.
Being sure to protect yourself from the sun is crucial. You’ll be more exposed to sunburn as sunlight reflects back up off the water.
Wearing clothes with wicking properties to keep feeling cool and dry.
2. HOW DO I AVOID FALLING?
Falling is a normal aspect of paddleboarding (especially when learning).
Knowing how to fall correctly for beginner is crucial to avoid damage. Aim to fall directly into the water, and be sure to keep hold of your paddle. A safety leash is necessary before paddleboarding.
3. CAN I SUP EVEN IF I CAN’T SWIM?
We firmly believe anyone can SUP, but we recommend you had better to learn swim before paddleboarding.
Or you can try stand up paddleboarding in shallow water accompanied by a partner who can swim.
4. CAN I SAFELY BRING MY DOG ONBOARD A SUP?
Absolutely! We recommend the 10’8" inflatable paddle board with small and middle dogs, or the larger 12’ models if you need a little more space.
5. CAN TWO PEOPLE SAFELY SUP TOGETHER ON THE SAME BOARD?
If you are normal weight paddlers, of course you can, but if you or your partner is oversized, we recommend you try it in shallow water first.
About Pump
1. CAN I USE ANY OF FUNWATER'S PUMPS TO INFLATE MY BOARD?
Yes, our pumps are designed to fit most inflatable paddle boards in Canada.
2. HOW MUCH AIR SHOULD I PUMP INTO MY INFLATABLE BOARD?
The recommended pressure for our board is 12—15 PSI. Depending on the size of your board it can take anywhere from 4—6 minutes.
3. HOW MUCH PRESSURE (PSI) SHOULD BE PUMPED FOR INFLATABLE BOARDS AT DIFFERENT WEATHER OR TEMPERATURES?
The recommended pressure for our inflatable boards is between 12 and 15 PSI.
4. WHEN DETACHING THE PUMP FROM THE INFLATABLE BOARD, THE AIR STARTS TO RELEASE FROM THE VALVE. HOW DO I STOP THIS FROM HAPPENING?
There is a little spring pin inside that locks itself in two positions:
Deflating position (air coming out freely) and inflating position (100% Airtight). To switch from deflating to inflating, simply push the pin and the pin will lock itself in a up position and the air will not be able to come out unless you push the pin down again.
5. MY PRESSURE GAUGE IS NOT WORKING – WHAT DO I DO?
Generally, the pressure gauge will start to register a pressure reading after the board reaches 7 PSI’s which is about 100-120 pumps.
You can refer to the operation in the video to check if the barometer is working properly.
About Paddle
1. HOW TO ASSEMBLE THE PADDLEE?
1. The Spring ball and Lock Mechanism that allows quick and easy assembly.
2. Adjust the paddle to your desired length.
2. HOW TO ADJUST THE LENGTH OF THE PADDLE?/HOW DO I FIX A PADDLE THAT CAN'T BE FIXED?
About Fins
1. WHY ARE FINS DIFFICULT TO INSERT?
In order to prevent the fins from falling off during use, we have thickened them.
If the fin is too tight, please use a hot hair dryer to blow the fin base on the board for 5-8 minutes after the board fully inflated. Then try inserting the fin and it will improve.
2. WILL THE BENT BOTTOM OF THE FINS AFFECT THE USE?
Generally, it will not affect the use of the paddle board.
Due to the special material of the fin, the bottom of the fin may be slightly bent. The degree of bending is less than 3mm generally will not affect the use. If there is a problem with inserting the fins, I suggest you use a hot water fan to blow the fin base for about 6-8 minutes. Then try to insert the fins repeatedly while the board is inflated.
